Drain Snaking vs. Hydro Jetting: Which Do You Need?

When a drain won't clear, two tools do most of the heavy lifting: a drain snake and a hydro jetter. They solve different problems.

Drain snaking

Drain snaking pushes a rotating cable down the line to break through or pull out a clog. It's fast and ideal for a single stubborn blockage.

Hydro jetting

Hydro jetting blasts the pipe with high-pressure water, scouring the walls clean. It removes years of grease and buildup along the entire pipe.

Which one is right?

For a one-off clog, snaking usually does the job. For recurring backups or grease-heavy kitchen lines, hydro jetting lasts longer.

Not sure? We'll inspect the line, often with a camera inspection, and recommend the right fix with upfront pricing.
